Technologies at Our Dental Clinic

At Kingswood Dentistry, technology helps us during appointments by giving our team detailed information about our patients' oral health. It plays a vital role in treatment planning and helping to keep dental appointments running smoothly.

Chairside monitors in our treatment rooms allow us to show you your digital X-rays and scans, allowing us to point out areas of concern, walk you through our treatment recommendations, and provide you with important information about caring for your smile.

Our Barrie dentists and team steadfastly believe that patient education plays a key role in maintaining long-term oral health, and we want to help ensure that your smile stays healthy for many years to come.

Digital X-Rays

Digital X-ray technology (radiography) uses digital sensors instead of traditional photographic X-ray film. They produce highly detailed computer images of the teeth and gums, as well as other oral structures and conditions, allowing your dentist to examine parts of the mouth that are not visible to the naked eye.

Panoramic X-Rays

Panoramic X-rays allow your dentist to create a single image of your entire mouth. This image is a flat representation of the teeth, upper and lower jaws, temporomandibular joints (TMJ), and nasal and sinus structures. Panoramic X-rays are often used to help plan treatments for dentures, braces, extractions, and implants.

VELscope® Oral Cancer Screening

The VELscope is an oral cancer screening device designed to highlight abnormalities and diseases in the mouth, such as cancerous and pre-cancerous lesions. Using fluorescence visualization technology, screening can be performed in your dentist’s office during routine examinations
